How much would you pay for a pink diamond? Would you pay $9.5 million?
Someone paid this high amount at Christie’s auction in New York Tuesday. The 5.50-carat oval-cut fancy vivid pink diamond with VVS1 clarity was top lot, making over $2 million more than the pre-sale estimate.
Also featured in the sale was a 20.08-carat potentially flawless rectangular cut diamond ring, selling for $3 million, and a 5.91-carat fancy light pink diamond, selling for over $1.8 million. Two necklaces and a pair of earrings were sold as well.
In all, the auction collected a total of $27.5 million.
